Family asks Tinubu not to allow Kanu to die at the DSS facility.
The family of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, has alerted authorities of their son’s severe condition while he is being held by the Department of State Services.
His family pleaded with President Bola Tinubu to prevent him from passing away while under the DSS’s care, claiming he desperately required a cardiologist.

Kanu was brought into the nation from Kenya in 2021 and has been detained ever since.
Justice Binta Nyako denied his bail request on Tuesday, citing his worsening health status.
Kanu’s younger brother, Emmanuel, said in a statement released on Saturday that he had been told earlier that his brother was in serious condition.
According to him, Kanu has to see a doctor right away to prevent a serious health emergency.
A portion of the message said, “We learned this morning that he is gravely ill. His own doctors are not available to him, and he needs a cardiologist immediately. In DSS care, he shouldn’t be let to pass away.
Earlier, the family had chastised the South-East political establishment for not reaching out to the President in an attempt to secure their son’s release.
They said that certain people were profiting from his prolonged incarceration, which explains why the political establishment didn’t seem interested in pressing the President for his release.
